Jenn,

I wholeheartedly agree with you. One thing evangelical churches do well that I think Lutherans could learn from is a solid library within the Church, or a bookstore of solid confessional books. But that's another discussion.

I would like to start this group discussion of family reformation on the "fulcrum" or the "cornerstone" of a godly family, which I believe is a healthy (not perfect) marriage. For example, if your marriage is built on the sand, well you know the rest of the story. Or we can build our marriage on the solid rock, even Christ Jesus the Lord, then we can be set to teach. Or can I go so far to use the, " a house divided against itself will not stand. " so as marriage that is not united will fall. So, before we put the cart before the horse, let's go into this with the assumption that our first ministry is to our spouse and there I would like to start.

Hopefully this will be a progressive discussion, Marriage, Husband, Wife, Children, Siblings, etc.... and anything in between.

I would love to hear from you and see if we can agree to start from there. Your input is so welcomed.

In the name of the Father, + Son, and Holy Spirit. Amen

Most gracious God, we give thanks for the joy and blessings that You grant to husbands and wives. Assist them always by Your grace that with true fidelity and steadfast love they honor and keep their marriage vows, grow in love toward You and for each other, and come at last to the eternal joys that You have promised; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen

Hello Steven.
I like your idea about the marriage group. I struggle with this a lot since my wife is reformed and I have two children I would like to raise in the Lutheran faith, with no Lutheran church to attend, would be great encouragement!
