To the esteemed Rev. Lovejoy, It appears you need a red guard over that button that deletes things. I can likely get one from work that is hinged on one end and you can "safe tie" down the other end with a little copper wire so that it takes forethought and effort to execute your "plan." It minimizes the risk of accidently shutting things down - a good thing to have when you fly jets.

As I always tell my students, I have 2 hobbies. One is giving homework, the other is making mistakes. Forgiven.

Now, I get it! I couldn't figure out where this group went on my page! I'm glad it's back and to be back with the group!

I confess and do resist but I couldn't resist accidentally deleting my own page several months back. No worries my friend. I'm glad you are back up and I hope to full strength and more!

Pastor Walter called me and asked what happened to this group. Oops accepted. Funny things, these 'cubers (as my 5 year old son calls them...).

Thanks for the kindness.

Scott - I always wanted to get a ride in the rear seat of a fighter. I think I would have food substances coming from every orifice and I'm sure I would cry like a little girl - but it would be worth it.

Hi, glad your back. I think I need to change my personal logo since CLCC is using this now as a group logo. Any suggestions, besides a photo of me? I have a good one of me climbing out of a racing truck. You don't want to know the story.

hello everyone. i'm a pastor of the lutheran church in the philippines (lcms), and i recently received (and accepted) a call from one of our churches here in manila, gloria dei lc (installation's on july 12th. now where the heck is that red thingy you put on your neck? and that red thingy you wear during communion?). time to confess (the one true faith that leads to life everlasting) and resist (the devil and all his bureaucratic cohorts and all those who would, one way or another, undermine the lutheran confessions).

I suppose I should say something about why I am still on the Confessing Resistance.
In short, here's why: I do not think it is acceptable for the leadership of the LC-MS to be de facto unaccountable in their enforcement of non/anti-Lutheran approaches to evangelism/missions, and unless they recognize the principle that leaders have to give an account for their stewardship (Heb. 13: 17) I will remain here.

Let me give you a quotation from Gene Veith which says it all, without any need for interpretation by me:

"Churches that were once evangelical, boldly standing up for the Gospel and the authority of the Bible against modernist culture and its liberal theologians, are now changing their teachings and their practices to keep up with the culture. They do market surveys to find what the religious consumers of the culture want, then they respond like any other successful business. They throw out time-tested modes of worship in favor of whatever styles are most popular. Told that people do not want to hear about how sinful they are, they switch to a more positive message of self-esteem, combing the Bible for principles for successful living rather than preaching that Christ died for sinners....Though they often call themselves evangelical, those who uncritically follow the dictates of the culture are not evangelicals at all but simply the latest version of an old theology: They are liberals.

Gene Edward Veith, "Two Kingdoms Under One King" in ed. Angus Menuge, Christ and Culture in Dialogue (CPH, 1999).

I used to be self-righteous about this, saying, thank God I am not like that man, a mainstream Protestant. But now the financial crisis in the LC-MS has tempted us down the same path. I am tired of those in the LC-MS who say that any protest on this point is "an attack on the LC-MS." By this logic, no reform is possible. Lutheranism is a confession, not a church. Those who claim to be Lutheran yet who attack that confession are the ones who are attacking and damaging the church, and it is necessary to stand fimly against them, speaking the truth in love. To do so is to support the church, not attack it.
