Hey Tony. How did the ELDoNA synod go? Any developments in Lake County this week?

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
Hello Reverend, my name is Tim. I have heard of the Evang. Diocese, but I don't know much about it. Could you give me some information please (maybe a website)? I would appreciate it very much.
Also, I have never heard of someone being a pastor and a deacon at the same time. That's awesome!
God bless you brother!

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.
By the way, I just have to say it: nice hair!
How long did it take you to get it that long? I myself wish to grow a ponytail, but alas, my school has a rule about guy's having short hair. So, three months really isn't enough time to get anywhere with getting long hair... oh well! XD
Thank you again Reverend, and God bless!

I'm starting to get the feeling that Sharp's question is going to come up repeatedly, so hopefully this'll help:
At times in history the Church has used the name "Deacon" to refer to pastors. ELDoNA uses the term "deacon" in place of "associate" or "assistant pastor". Our use of the term "deacon" doesn't have any relation to practices where the term is applied to laymen or "lay-ministers" with irregular calls. Check out our Bishop's comments here.

Aha. Thank you. I didn't realize that the term deacon had referred to the office of pastor as well as to the '2nd tier' (or whatever you want to call it) office.

I also refuse to use the term deacon for "lay ministers."

Thanks for the response!

OK, what is a Rev. Dcn.?

Rev. Oncken, I see the makings of a 10 year theological program and discussion in these comments, but a discussion of AC 14, The Treatise, and Eph. Chapter 4, Rom. Chapters 10, 12, and Acts Chapters 6-8 could conceivably belong in a group discussion.

I am capable of listening, speaking in love, and accepting correction when it is presented in an equitable way from Scripture and The Confessions.

These are my thoughts at this time, for your brotherly consideration, which do not preclude any possibility of my being corrected.

A bondservant of The Word
Brent
