Brad: I grew up in Texarkana and my grandparents lived in Little Rock. My aunt still lives there and goes to Grace Lutheran in LR.

You are so right about that weird smile on the face of Joel Olsteen...the face of deception.

Hi..thanks for your comments on the AIC videos...I see that you left Lutheranism for Rome but are re-thinking......that's good! I know that there are different "varieties" of Lutheans "out there" (sad to say)..but if you can find a good confessional, liturgical Lutheran Church I think you would be glad to return to your Lutheran roots. Please let me know if I can be of help in any way.......blessings to you in this Chrismas Season.......Pastor Lassman

has been reading and pondering Psalms a lot lately.

Brad, have you considered joining the Scripture Memory group yet? There are no obligations here, we occasionally include Psalms, and the group primarilly helps keep us in God's Word. I would just like to invite you. God's blessings on your New Year!

"and am being blown away by my new Lutheran Study Bible..."

You, too? I still like my Concordia Self-Study Bible (CSSB) in the New International Version (NIV), but I, too, am "blown away" by the great resource The Lutheran Study Bible (TLSB) by Concordia Publishing House (CPH, Saint Louis,MO)!!! Have you had a chance to check out a copy of Treasury of Daily Prayer (ToDP--also CPH)? It, too, is an awesome resource, including a Psalm reading for each day of the year, a suggested "additional psalm" daily (all 150 Psalms are in the back of this prayer book), and a daily Old Testament and New Testament reading for every day of the year. Also included is a "Writing", often from an Early Church Father or even a Reformation Church Father. Matins, Vespers, and other orders of worship are reprinted in this book in full. I'm blown away by both of these incredible resources!

Amen to Psalm 46:1!! That verse has held me firm so many times when I felt like running away or giving up!

Yea, verily, we are all poor, miserable sinners clinging to the "old, rugged cross". But mistake not obedience to, and confidence in, the word of God to be prideful. Apologetics is service to the Great Commission conducted by those who are imperfect - many of whom do fall into the "first deadly sin". We are all weak vessels for propagating the counsel of God.
