James Robertson commented on Chris Cason's blog post The Emergence of Love"Jesus said to him, 'If you wish to be perfect, go, sell your possessions, and give money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow Me." - Matthew 19:21.
There exists a law of perfection in the Gospel for they that would justify themselves under the "Gospel". "I will sanctify My great Name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you profaned among them; and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God, when through you I display My holiness before their eyes. One of the primary texts that would seem to refute the above thesis would be I Peter 1:5-7,
"For…

"See how great He is!" (Hebrews 7:4a)
In the Person of Christ we discover that point at which Law and Gospel are transcended. In Him the perfection of the Law is fulfilled, but at His earthly sojourn where was the Gospel for Him? It lay in what He unquestioningly would do, the assurance of which provided by the prescience of the Divine Mind, also rested in a Positional Dynamism as the "Beloved Son" and, the One with Whom the Father was well pleased. It was by virtue of His…
