Hello Rev. Lassman! I saw the justification by faith video in the Videos area and asked who the person was who did such a nice job on that lesson. Glad to have you around, and I hope you are OK with lots of dumb questions from newer Lutherans like myself. (Although I might be the only one asking dumb questions.)

Hey Pr. Lassman,
I've learned alot from your online videos. Thanks
for clarifying and simplifying a lot of questions I've had
of my newfound Faith. Pax.

Hey Pr. Lassman,
I love the liturgy in our church, but I've recently discovered UAC (Unaltered Augsburg Confession) churches, and love the "antique" feel of the services. What's your opinion on these liturgical churches? Is it in the eye of the beholder, or is it too much liturgy and not enough gospel? Also, do you know of any UAC directory websites? I know the LCMS website has a church website directory, but I would like to see one that has UAC Lutheran churches in it. Pax.

Yes your son is saved by faith in Jesus...and now he should be baptized since that's what faith leads to. I would be pleased to discuss this with Caleb and you (and whoever else would like to join us!). We learn from Scripture that the Gospel Word and Baptism give and accomplish the same things because baptism is "the washing of water with the word" Eph. 5: 26. If you are able I also invite you to our Advent Service tomorrow at 7:00pm with Evening Prayer (without communion)..Maybe your wife would like this service too. Dinner is at 6:00 and is a free will offering. So, let me know your thoughts! Pastor Lassman

Ditto what Dan said. Someone linked to the classes and I've watched Baptism and Communion.

I only wish the Communion class had addressed why the Lutheran church doesn't practice infant communion, what practice the early church had, and what the bible has to say about it. ??

It seems to me that any argument for infant baptism would apply to communion also.

Educate me. Thanks!

Wow, that was... scholarly. There were lots of _________, but I was able to absorb enough to be convinced that it's a bad idea. I just don't understand why the early church practiced it then.
Thanks!
