"Steve: You are one perceptive young man! And I don't doubt that our Lord Jesus has had a lot to do with the penetrating way you have perceived things. I actually agree with everything you have said. I hope and pray too, that our new…"

Pastor Jon Bischof (Trail Guide-AR) replied to Rik Eischen's discussion Let Us Pray for our newly elected president of the LCMS, and for Unity in this Synod
"Seth: That is right--"Our theology is sacramental". In our common American baptocostal/nondenominational Christendom--Gospel Outreach is an undirected, unguided free-for-all. They think that makes it more effective--if every Christian is…"

Don replied to Pastor Jon Bischof (Trail Guide-AR)'s discussion Are You Satisfied?

Pastor Jon Bischof (Trail Guide-AR) replied to Pastor Jon Bischof (Trail Guide-AR)'s discussion Are You Satisfied?
"Well, You are right. Wanting more than Jesus gives is a sin; it is really unbelief in Christ. That's why Paul wrote: ESV Galatians 5:4 You are severed from Christ, you who would be justified by the law; you have fallen away from grace. "

Pastor Jon Bischof (Trail Guide-AR) replied to Pastor Jon Bischof (Trail Guide-AR)'s discussion Are You Satisfied?
"Yes, it is true--our own 'mind of the flesh' is unable to rejoice in the Gospel. I encounter this all the time from my own members and others who, whenever they hear a clear, unconditional delivery of the Gospel for sure and certain…"

Timothy Alan Rake replied to Pastor Jon Bischof (Trail Guide-AR)'s discussion Are You Satisfied?
"Oh, c'mon, fellas. The Law makes such appealing bookends to enclose the Gospel. Nice and enclosed, circumscribed, accessible, measured, and within confines suitable to the Old Adam. I'm terribly uncomfortable with that eternal open-end of…"

Pastor Bischof, Didnt' they call you 'Buddy' at First? I think I remember you. I believe I was a middle/high schooler when I knew you. I'm glad to know you are a confessional Lutheran pastor. Christ Centered Cross focused is the only way to go.

Pr. Bischof, sorry about the nickname. I must have known your parents (probably through my grandparents Leonard and Opal Holy both deceased or my parents Don and Margaret). I was only 4 in 1978 so I must have met you when you were home from Sodom urr I mean U of A. You always seemed very nice and soft spoken, thin. How long have you been a pastor in Arkansas? God bless your efforts.

Jon, it's been a long, long time since our paths crossed. When Wilkens was in Wyoming at the end of January he told a story on you before, oh, say, 300+ Lutherans. You'll have to ask him what he said. Nice to see you here. ~~ Shawn
