A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Open Communion

I have written this disclaimer before:

Have you ever had the misfortune of hearing what Todd Wilken calls the “Three Stories and a Moral” sermon? Using the Wilken diagnostic, it is not Christian preaching at all.

What makes the “Three Stories and a Moral” sermon even worse is when the preacher drags out something from the “Christian” cartoonist Charles Schulz as one of the three stories. I’ve heard the “three stories..” sermon using…

Bishop Elisa Hospitalized

Many of you may know Bishop Elisa - President of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sudan is very ill. He will have brain surgery in the coming weeks.

He needs out prayers, and some money wouldn't hurt either. Please see below from the LHF website http://www.lhfmissions.org/Page.aspx?pid=314

Rev. Andrew Elisa, bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sudan (ELCS), has been hospitalized in Jordan.

The Holy Spirit has worked mightily through Rev. Elisa to… Continue

Help get the word out about Issues, Etc.

As most of you know Issues, Etc. has returned.

Jon:

We missed you guys at the Apologetics Conference which was so good with some 20+ young Muslims there. They were fascinated with Dr. Francisco, who did such a wonderful job. Unfortunately, he didn't turn on the mp3 recorder for the first half of his talk, but we have the second on our website.

Wondering what topic you might like to see at our Third Annual Conference in October?

Blessings in Christ!
