Hi, Ken -- I'm not sure what it would take to be rejected. :-) I'm not sure I want to know. Check out some of the stuff on my page and see the groups of which I'm a member and see some of my friends. Also check out the different groups which you can join. There's a wealth of stuff on here. There's some bad stuff, too, but it's mostly all good. Let me know how you get along! Do NOT be afraid to ask questions. Glad you joined, dear friend and brother in Christ!

Hi, Ken -- Yes, I will most certainly be praying for your job hunt. A young man in my parish (24 years old & 'gets' solid doctrine) has just found a job after a long hiatus. I'll try to remember to go to facebook to see your house -- I struggle with this stuff, too. :-)

Ken, in relation to being "born that way" one of the best ways to understand it would be to talk about how a heterosexual is to abstain from making any one-flesh unions prior to actual marriage. Therefore, if (and that is a big IF) a person was born a homosexual, then God's Word clearly prohibits the abominable thoughts, words, and deeds that are associated with that and that person should abstain, the same as a heterosexual should. This is largely a logical argument, and if the person is talking purely logically it may work to question their false beliefs. However most people arguing this are no longer rational or logical, but dogmatic in their beliefs about homosexuality.
Human beings bear the corruption of Original Sin - which means all kinds of things - whether diseases, mutations, or predispositions. A son of an alcoholic may inherit a predisposition to be an alcoholic - therefore it would be wise to avoid any extreme consumption (because God's Word says that drunkenness is sinful).
Most people are claiming to be born that way in order to justify themselves - something that is never helpful, especially in the eyes of God. The other problem may be the eventual blaming of God in "how I was created". I am reminded of Adam in the garden - it was the woman that YOU gave me...
Hope that helps...
