Hi Michael

Welcome to the Trail. I see we share a common interest in Genesis and evolution and how to reconcile to the two accounts. I am a recent (@ 15 yrs now) convert to Christianity and Genesis was a question that never really went away for me, I would set it aside for a while and then I would read something and it would come right back to the front again. I think I have found a satifactory position now, but I still find myself drawn back to it again and again. I think it may be the great question of our time.

Thank you for your responses to my post "Female Ordination". Even though they did stir up controversy, I nonetheless appreciated them. I would like to see where your basis is for female ordination. I say this not because I agree with you, nor am attacking you. Rather, I would like to see the oppossing view- to see both sides of the argument.

Thanks for your reply to my question. To be honest, not sure if I'm quite ready for NT debate yet... lot of stuff coming up.
Anyway, here is my humble take. It may simplistic, but this is my thoughts:
Male and Female are equal- this I don't deny. It is not a matter of "because men and women are equal, they can have the same jobs (minus giving birth: thats a girl-only thing). Rather, it is a matter of where God has commanded each to be. We complement each other, male and female, and we best go to where the Lord commands us. Whether or not patriarchal systems are a result of the Fall I do not think is necessarily important (I know- big statement there). Rather, even if it is, God still commands men and women to different vocations, and allows each to have certain things the other cannot have. And who am I to judge the Lord's thinking? Again, this is just my thought, in accordance not only with the way I have been raised, but also from what I see in the Scriptural witness.

Hi Michael

Thanks for inviting me to be your friend. How are things in Bargersville (I had never heard of Bargersville 'til now and had to Google it to find out where it is) I am located in a small town (@20,000 pop) in Alberta Canada and am looking forward to the return of golfing season. Have a wonderful Easter.
