Searching for Blog Sites

I'm looking to bring together a comprehensive list of all blog sites that would be considered part of the confessional resistance movement in the LCMS. If you know of any, please add them to the comment stream on this blog post. I want to list them alphabetically on my Blogosphere Underground.

The sites must reflect a confessional resistance to intrusion of church growth / emergent / seeker-sensitive theologies that threaten our Lutheran… Continue

A Seeker Sensitive Synod

I'm thinking out loud here. What would a seeker sensitive synod look like? I'm using this blog as a kind of scratch pad at the moment. I'm thinking in terms of polarities. I'm not necessarily saying that left side is bad, right side is good but I'm looking at the emphasis and polarities involved. For you non-mathematicians, the ">" denotes that the left item is emphasized over and above the right item.

I'm not sure why I think this is funny.

But I do.
Maybe it's the idea of winging two Texans with one stone.

Pr Cwirla, Hi! Welcome to WT! I've loved listening to you on IE and am hoping (if we can get our truck working) to worship at Holy Trinity tomorrow evening for Maundy Thursday. We had wanted to come on Sunday (we're supposed to be in LA for vacation) but we had truck problems and are still stuck in Vegas - should be driving to LA today. I've been so looking forward to getting a chance to meet you in person (even if only briefly at church).
Blessings in Christ

Excellent photo Bill. Hard to top.
Your sermons are an inspiration to pastors everywhere. Sometimes, I suspect that they just lift them, but here is a case where plagiarism is only a good thing.

Pr Cwirla, Just in case you were anxiously awaiting our arrival at church tonight - HA! Our truck gave us enough headaches that we've postponed the trip until Mayish - Lord willing we'll get to hear you preach in person then!

Hi all.
Blessed Holy Week to everyone.
I don't do a lot of this mySpace/Facebook sort of stuff, but I'll check in once and while when I'm not diving.
Glad you like the pic, Angus. It was taken just after I got certified.

Dear Bill.
You are in the forefront of things. I so admire your ministry and frankly wish you were President of the LC-MS, starting 8 years ago or so.
Still, it is faithful pastors, not synodical officials, who build the church and spread the Gospel. Hope to see you in either CA or Fort Wayne. By the way, more and more intelligent Lutherans are going to the Evangelical Theological Society national meeting every November and spreading the Lutheran difference (www.etsjets.org). You could make a great contribution in that area. If you ever want to do something on ID in your neck of the woods, I'd be happy to help, either personally or with contacts.
Blessings,
Angus

Angus, believe me when I say you don't want me as the President of the lc-ms (the letters are lowercase in honor of Issues, Etc). I don't do institution. Institutions are beastly. I'm kryptonite to institutions. Very interested about the ETS. I've gotta' get out of the Lutheran sandbox; some feral cat seems to be using it as a litter box.

Hey Bill! Hope things are going well for you this Triduum. We think of you often, and our little one is growing like a weed. Blessings as you tend to your flock this holy season.

Pr. Cwirla. I know that you are in direct contact with Pr. Wilken. Please relay to him my gratitude for his ministry. I am an ELCM Pastor serving on active duty as a Chaplain. I am with the 173rd airborne in Afghanistan.

As one who began but was crushed by the weight of the law in Pentecostalism, Issues Etc kept me from despair. It is through Pr. Wilken’s ministry that I left Pentecostalism and embraced the theology of the cross. I began to listen while deployed to Iraq in 2003-2004 and have been an avid listener since. My son, Nathaneal, was the German representative to the Higher Things conference in Minnesota last summer-we are stationed in Germany.

I pray that some format, LC-MS or otherwise, will allow Pr. Wilken to continue in this ministry.

Peace+++,

You are another pastor I 'know' through Issues etc.

Thanks for your messages on Issues Etc and your service to Higher Things.

I'm glad I can continue to listen to your sermons via podcast.

May God continue to bless you
