Why do you keep knocking my grandfather?

Dear Pres. Kieschnick,

When you recently started your "not your grandfather's church body"-campaign, I was alarmed that you might not appreciate my grandfather. If you don't appreciate my grandfather, I wish you would tell me directly and not the rest of the Synod.

My grandfather was a dairy farmer in SE Wisconsin all his life. He was a faithful member of LC-MS congregations his entire life and served on boards, supported the church's school by sending all of his kids to… Continue

SWD Pastors Unite Over Issues, Etc.

At today's business meeting of the South Wisconsin District Pastors Conference, the loudest "Aye!" was for a resolution directing DP Wille to express our concern over the cancellation of Issues, Etc. with Pres. Kieschnick toward the restoration of the program. It was the loudest Aye! because it was unanimous and from the heart.

We all remember quite well the visit of Jeff Schwartz and Todd Wilken to our last pastors conference. They made friends up here. We're glad they came. You can… Continue

Taking A Break From Issues Apologetics

But did you notice that Bucky made the Sweet 16? Of course, they're now up against the biggest Cinderella of the tournament, Davidson. But as the commercial says, "There are no cinderellas. And if Bucky has his way Friday, there won't be when the game is done.

Clueless

OK, I'm indebted to Pastor Cwirla for this. But I sure had fun creating it.

When Is Enough Really Enough?

The Issues, Etc. debacle and the bureaucratic double-speak of our Synodical President raises the inevitable question regarding the future of Pres. Kieschnick's presidency. When is enough really enough?

The Synod's congregations must be gluttons for punishment because they keep re-electing him, even though he has shown a remarkable penchant for dictatorial, unilateral leadership. He has also shown the typical blindness most bureaucrats develop to their constituencies. Now pushing for… Continue

Hi, Dan!

Glad you found the WT community. Since seminary Lisa and I have 4 children as well. Sounds like you're keeping very busy. I have a friend who teaches in the Math Dept. at Marquette--Gary Krenz. You might look him up, as he'd be a good prospect. Blessings.

Hi, Dan & Jennifer. Good to hear from you. Deb sends her regards, as well. Welcome to the Wittenberg Trail. Our kids are doing well. Liz is a nurse in Orlando, John is at West Point, Sarah is a senior at Truman State. Look us up next time you're in town!

Greetings from WA to WI on the WT. My wife and I are also the parents of a child from China. We received her in Jiangxi province in April of 2006.

Another member of the WT, Robert Talbert, also has two children from China. Do I see the makings of a new group?

Bach, Perlman, and Kraus...like 'em.

We received our daughter in Nanchang. She was born in Ningdu, Jiangxi. Yours? What agency did you work with?

We'll pray for a quick recovery for Nathanael. We just submitted our latest dossier for our second child. We indicated that we would be open to a child with special needs or an older child. That could expedite the process for us, if that's what God intends. Otherwise, it looks like the wait is close to 2 years now. How long was it for you?

Daniel - Just wanted to say hi as a fellow dad of a Jiangxi kid. Penelope is from Yiyang, which is way out in the middle of nowhere in Jiangxi. We brought her home almost one year ago today. She just turned 2. She was a special needs kid too, with a cleft lip/palate. She had surgery last May and is doing great.

Penny is our second. We came home with our first, Lucy, in September 2004. She's from Guangdong province and just turned 4.

Anyway, nice to have you here.
