I love to learn more about my faith -- and share that with others, both Lutherans and non-Lutherans. I attend Redeemer Lutheran in Colorado Springs. I work as a paralegal assistant in Colorado Springs for Heuser and Heuser law firm, and am working on my paralegal certification. When I'm not studying theology (particularly the differences between Lutheranism and Catholicism at the moment) or Greek, I do various political things (from being elected to the El Paso County Republican Executive Committee and Colorado State Republican Central Committee to serving as the volunteer coordinator for the county party, serving on several other county committees within the party and doing consulting work on various campaigns) and dance as much as humanly possible--swing, blues and ballroom (and share my passion for dancing by teaching others when I can).

Hi Sarah, I've compiled a really useful 8-page compendium that I give to Reformed and Baptist-types, which they have found very helpful in terms of gaining illumination from Scripture. I'd be happy to share it with you, should you like to receive it as an attachment. Pax et bonum - JJB

Welcome to the forum, my beautiful daughter! (Your sisters are beautiful, too! So don't let that comment swell your head any!) ;-)

You like to study theology and Greek? What are you planning to do for college? After college? Ever thought about becoming a deaconess?

Ever thought of just being a mother? :D (To play God's advocate in the apparent debate) My wife loves it. She spends half her day teaching theology to a captive and believing audience. It's great. Wish my job was so easy! :D

I think you two might have a lot in common:

Sarah, I am sorry for taking so long to accept your invitation to friendship. Anyhow, now I am here :). As my husband said earlier, being a mother is the most fulfilling thing I have ever done in my life and nothing says, "Success!" like the warm hug of a three-year-old accompanied by a whispered, "I love you, Mother".

Hi
I saw your profile on the “Lutherans for Ron Paul” group and I saw that you are in Colorado Springs and if I'm not being too forward I thought that I should say Hello.
I am curious, how did someone so young as yourself get so involved in politics? And how did you get turned on to Ron Paul? I get the impression that my family thinks that I am a little off the deep end being a Ron Paul supporter.
Also did you attend Redeemer Lutheran School or just the church? I attend Immanuel Lutheran School for most of my grade school and middle school years.

Sarah,
It certainly does sound like you had a strong inclination towards politics at an early age, perhaps that is just part of your inborn temperament. I was told about Ron Paul from friends of mine, one of which is on Wittenberg Trail. My friend Nate had told me about this Congressman from Texas who was a very good conservative. I remember him telling me that he submitted a resolution to return the appointment of congressmen to the original Constitutional way by states instead of by election. I also remember Nate telling me that He supported the repeal of the Federal Reserve and the elimination of the income tax and that he also endorsed the book “The Real Lincoln.” My friend somehow got involved in a Libertarian view of politics and or Austrian Economics which rubbed off on me quite a bit. Unfortunately Nate moved away about 2 or so years ago and so we no longer had our men's Sunday Night Bible/Politics /what ever else we were interested in study. Also I can be a bit absent minded and bad with names, so when Nate Emailed me telling me and others telling us about this Republican presidential candidate that he liked and was going to be on the Late Show with Jay Leno I unfortunately didn't take the time to watch the show or give as much thought to Nate's Email that I should have. It wasn't until I got a newsletter Emailed to me from the Liberty Dollar talking about this Presidential candidate that they liked so much that they supported him by minting precious metal coins with his likeness on them that I finally realized that all three of these people were in fact the exactly the same person. At that point he was way at the top of my list of favorite politicians. I hope that wasn't too long of an explanation for you.

Yes I did leave a comment for your Mom but I didn't know that the two of you were related although the thought did cross my mind. I get the impression that you were home schooled, is that true?

Lastly I'd be interested in adding you to my list of friends if your interested
