Hi Ted
Good to "see" you. I guess your kids and my daughter have gotten to know each other at CUW. Tell Michelle Hello. How is the family? Our last one left home in August so we are now empty nesters.

Daniel is a computer programmer in the Minneapolis area. Michelle graduated CUW in Dec. and is still in the area, but will move in July. Andrew joined the Army and is in Arizona, moving to Kansas in May. I think MIchelle tutored one of your daughters last semester in German.

Daniel and Michelle will each be here for short times for Easter, depending on what this snowstorm does to the roads, etc.

howdy, just thought I'd let you know both Lisa and I are hanging out here now. Nothing like the mindless cancellation of quality programming to bring people together.

Hi Ted! Nice to hear from you... Coming to Finland is sort of a long story... Just came home from preaching at a mission station (in Finnish, of course). Wow, what a language... took me three years to learn how to say "meet", as in "Hey, perhaps I can meet you tomorrow." Just because I failed to add one extra consonant... I have been telling have of Finland... "Hey, perhaps I can KILL you tomorrow." Wishing you all the best, Ted. Ned Brockwell, Jyväskylä, Finland

Pastor Cook, you have two wonderful daughters in Tabitha and Tirzah! I saw Tirzah at the presentation last night, a presentation that went very well. Dr. Menuge and Dr. Nelson gave fantastic presentations and did a great job of fielding questions from a very diverse crowd. I am thankful that everything went smoothly.

It is indeed an interesting question. Are you offering an answer?

Both Menuge and Nelson approached the question from a philosophical/biological perspective, so I did not hear the answer I was looking for, which was: "No, science cannot discover God...at least not the Trinitarian God that we as Lutherans confess." The evidence presented last night clearly points to a higher being as the source of creation, but the evidence did not speak of the creation account we are given in Genesis. However, we had a big turnout for the event, and those people received an invitation to worship at LMC where they can encounter this Intelligent Designer first hand in Word and Sacrament. So all is well!

Hi,
Michigan finally warming a little. Paul has mentioned Tirzah and Deb met her a couple of weeks ago in WI. But not too much info since that time. I talk to Paul only about once a week, so I dont know all that is happening. Our next son is a sr. now and in the midst of getting ready for Kettering U., a engineering co-op school, and other kids are busy too. So hard to keep track.

The Issues etc fiasco made me start jumping around blogs and decided to be a part of WT. Not a lot of time, but some community.
Blessings, Carl

Wal-Mart? Bike? Biking weather? What are these things you speak of? Okay, seriously, We are still having fairly chilly weather though it keeps showing signs of warming up. Though, we have had a "mild" winter compared to Milwaukee!! Every time we go there or Michelle comes here, it has to snow.

Pastor Cook, thanks for such a clear and to-the-point response. I borrowed from it earlier today when discussing the ID presentation with some friends and I was thankful that it made sense to them!
