"This year is already very different than other years. If I counted right... Only 2 times has the synod not elected the highest nominee. (Since we have used the current system, 1977) * 1981 Ralph Bohlman defeated Walter Maier. (No incumbent Preus…"

From the post:

But I hold out hope for the Missouri Synod. After all it is the synod of my birth. We are at our heart traditional, liturgical, practical and faithful to the Lutheran Confessions. At our heart we confess the faith of our fathers. (In spite of some who insist that this isn't our grand-father's church see "Through the Ages . . ."… Continue

Jonathon! First Matthew, and now I get to leave a comment on your wall. Excellent! Now this is starting to feel like ol' times! Quik--somebody start working on Joe Cox & Brandon Luft. I'm already trying to get Boshoven to climb aboard.

I hope everything is great. I'm glad we got to see each other back in Houston. Hey, check out my page and my blog and the podcast/broadcast I partner with Matthew Pancake (also on the WT) to produce. Back in July this was called "The Lutheran Difference" podcast, which is still how it's listed in iTunes. At the beginning of Dec. we started doing the show live on a local AM radio station, and at that time we were advised we'd get broader listenership if we changed our name, so now the broadcast is called "Radical Grace." But it's the same show.

I hope I hear back from you soon.

Hi Jon, you found me! I haven't have a chance to explore the possibilities of the site yet but it looks like it will be fun. I just got back from out winkle. It was held at Trinity which is sacramento's "Mother Church" Jason Bredson (sp) was installed there yesterday. I think he came out of FW a couple of years ago and has been in Florida. Since it was Trinity's turn to host he got his initiation by fire. We are working through James Waddel's Doctoral thesis on recapturing the liturgy of the Lutheran Church. It's turning out to be a great study. I'll talk more about it later.
I hope all is well with you. Kiera was married at this church on the 29th of Dec. and I officiated with Pastor Weber (uncle Mark) from Cedar Bluffs. It was a great day! Blessings, John
