Tell us about yourself ( e.g. hobbies, education, projects you are working on, etc.). What brings you to the Wittenberg Trail?
I am a Pastor in the Deep Woods of East Texas on a big lake. First, call 2000 still here in 2008. Gun Barrel City is a Jewel in the ruff. Baptists still want to know what kind of Baptist is a Lutheran. I am attending a Baptist Seminary and working on an MA in Biblical Studies - original language stuff. Witnessing to Missionary Baptists is strange. They Believe in closed communion but not the real thing. They hold to a reformed view of Scripture but they can be amilli to Desp. They are as educated as we are but they are more Biblical as we are more theological. They do not hold to a KLV but hate the NIV. I bring my Lutheranism to the class and it helps me strengthen my fences. They like Luther but he got it wrong on Baptism and Communion and liturgy. Hebrew is this Winter.
Dear Scott,
We have not hit ninety yet and it is in the 50's and 60's at night. It is nice enought this summer, that when I ran a marathon in Duluth we started the race in the high 40's. Winter sucks though.
I am still doing the mission plant.

Wow! I am Pastor of Good Shepherd Ev. Lutheran Church, Lexington VA. This is my fourth parish, St. James being the first. Lexington is the home of Washington and Lee University and The Virginia Military Institute, so I get to do campus ministry. This is my 25th year of Ordination. I have not see Mike in 5 years and I saw Pr. Hanson last when Luke was about a year: 16 or so years ago! So, Gun Barrell City, do you have to be an NRA member to live there? (smile) BTW: I was at St. James 1983--1987: How old were you? (I'm testing my memory: were you in 7th grade or so?)

Thanks for your reply to my question about Nietzsche. Actually, my dad is my pastor. Rev. James Holowach. Why do you ask?
Nice to have you here. Thanks for the Word. You are truly a gentleman and a scholar!
peace, Nathan
Per chance is your father Bruce who was principal of SuLu when I was the assistant pastor at St. James L.C.?
Peace in Christ alone, Mark

Good hearing from you. Keep the Faith, Mark
We've added a group called The Lutheran Study Bible, which may be of interest to you.
